Warhammer Online: Dev chat log @ WarCry
WarCry have posted the chat log from their recent Warhammer Online Dev chat:
Moondriane: Regarding the Chaos Marauder, Will the mutations be forced or will the player have control? how mant mutations are there? and how will you scale the damage of the attacks with main hand weapons?
FYI I talk… Alot … be warned
Marauder Mutations are completely player selected… They are very similar to stance systems in other MMOs
Players will be able to unlock 3 diffrent types of mutations, We call them “Gifts”.. but in a nutshell you get 3 types
Claws (Dragon claw, Bird Claw, Beast claws)… Blades , and Bludgeons which we fondly refer to as “The Meat Club”
Depending on the mutation you have access to diffrent attacks
In addition you gain an offhand weapon that includes DPS and Stats that are on a similar level with very good item drops

* make sure you check out the info in the podcasts first so you don’t ask a question that’s already answered

Warhammer Online: Exclusive Interview #13 @ WarCry
The latest in WarCry’s series of Warhammer Online Interviews features Joshua Drescher, Adam Gershowitz and James Nichols of EA Mythic discussing the progress of the game’s Beta:
WarCry: Are there any plans to halt the beta again before release?EA Mythic: That’s always an option that’s on the table, but we haven’t currently scheduled an additional closure. We’ve done it twice now (once with the EA-only beta and again with this most recent closure) and both times it’s been very helpful. If we saw an opportunity to use another closure to respond to beta feedback, we’d definitely consider it.
The beta community was outstanding during the beta downtime, staying active and engaged on our internal forums. They remained in constant contact with us and continued to provide valuable and constructive feedback.

Top 10 Most Wanted 2008 Games @ Voodoo Extreme
Age of Conan and Warhammer Online
make it into Voodoo Extreme’s most wanted list at Numbers 4 and 5. This is a snip about War:
Bottom Line: As a long-time Dark Age of Camelot player, I get a little miffed when I look at a lot of Warhammer Online’s features. Originally, most of the cool stuff that makes WAR so exciting was proposed to be included in DAoC via expansion packs and free addons. Moving on, I really wouldn’t mind playing Dark Age of Camelot in Warhammer Online. Maybe Mythic can save me some time grinding and just transfer my Camelot players over. MJ! Put down the banhammer! I was just joking!

Warhammer Online: Four Great Reasons to Look Forward to WAR @ Ten Ton Hammer
Ten Ton Hammer has posted a two part feature detailing why we should be looking forward to Warhammer Online. check out Part 1
Here and Part 2 Here. this is a snip from the second part about the ip:
So, how do you do justice in bringing a game like this into the virtual world? It’s a simple concept that many have failed to execute. You stick to the IP. An IP is well loved and popular for a reason, don’t change it and you’ll do well. Apparently, the folks at EA Mythic thought “Hey, that’s a good idea” and they started working closely with the IP’s owner and creator, Games Workshops. Anything they do, it gets run by Games Workshops. They want to make a change in the IP for gaming purposes; they get the ok from Games Workshops. They need a design idea for characters, they talk to Games Workshops. See a trend here? And guess what? The fans LOVE this. They love knowing that the game that they’re going to play adheres closely to the lore, to the look of the game they’ve invested so much time in. The people who don’t play Warhammer? Well, they’re taken in by the things the fans of Warhammer have come to love over the years; the rich history of the world, the look of Chaos and its minions, the clearly defined roles of good and evil. By sticking with the IP/Background lore, EA Mythic is managing to create a game that will attract players for years to come.

Warhammer Online: Hooked Gamers take a look at War
Hooked Gamers has a brief preview of Warhammer Online. Herewith a snippet about the endgame PvP:
What is most interesting about Warhammer Online is the endgame content; this is the bread and butter baby. Once you become strong enough, players will eventually end up being important soldiers in a massive Player vs. Player capital city battle. Whether you are good or evil, eventually you find yourself in your home city, which will be under attack and can be taken over by the opposite fraction. Players need to defend their cities and attack in neutral territories. And to the victors, go the spoils; if you succeed in winning the neutral territory, you will advance to the next area, eventually arriving at the gates of the enemy city. Once there, the plot thickens, as you blaze through the gates and over the walls and burn the city to the ground, kill NPCs, take the King hostage and do as you will… but we wary… victory is fleeting.
