Age of Conan - Exclusive Interview @ MMOSite
Erling Ellingsen, Product Manager at Funcom, spoke to MMOSite about Age of Conan which is released in May:
MMOsite: Warhammer Onlineis another highly anticipated title which will also hit the market in 2008. How do you see the competition between Age of Conan and Warhammer Online? What’s the big difference between them?
Erling Ellingsen: I am very much looking forward to Warhammer Online (hi, Mythic, how are y’all?) and I think it’s going to be a great game. One of the reasons why I think Age of Conan and Warhammer Online is going to co-exist quite nicely is because they are two very different games. I think they are going for a more traditional approach to some of their gameplay elements, such as combat, while we are trying to do something more different. We’re also putting a bit more emphasis on storytelling, I think, especially with our level 1-20 gameplay that is more similar to a traditional single-player role-playing game. And, of course, the visual appearance of the two games is radically different! We’re also going for the mature angle, trying to cater to an audience that is eighteen years of age or older.
