Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar (PC) - Hands on with Jolt
Turbine have got to be happy with the sheer volume of people downloading and taking part in the beta for Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar. They’ll be even happier of these testers pay to play it when it goes officially live. Jolt have been giving a thorough seeing to and have posted their thoughts.
The game does, however, have a lot more depth than WoW and a lot of the mechanics feel immediately natural so you won’t need to peruse the manual or 57 different unofficial websites to get rid of your training wheels. The way the story works its way into your play and adapts depending on what you do is original and something that will appeal to people who like to get more immersed in their characters than just clicking icons every so often in order to do everything. Throw in some instancing that actually makes sense and isn’t as limiting as something like Dungeons & Dragons Online, and something special could be about to happen.
